In a story that reads like rock ‘n’ roll folklore with a happy ending, Josey Scott—founding vocalist of the multi-platinum nu-metal band Saliva and current leader of his solo project, Josey Scott’s Saliva—had his entire touring setup vanish in broad daylight, only for Tulsa police to track it down days later and arrest the alleged thief while he was literally wearing the evidence.

The incident began on the morning of April 28, 2026, when Scott’s tour trailer was stolen from the driveway of a home near 23rd Street and Yale Avenue in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Scott had stepped away for just a few minutes; when he returned, the trailer—and roughly $50,000 worth of irreplaceable band gear inside it—was gone. The haul included guitars, basses, drums, amplifiers, stage clothing, boxes of merchandise, and other essential touring equipment critical to the band’s ongoing “Every Six Seconds 25th Anniversary Tour.”

Devastated, Scott took to social media immediately, posting photos of the missing items and the trailer’s license plate (771-542K) and pleading with fans and the public to keep an eye out. He also launched a GoFundMe campaign to replace the lost equipment and keep the tour alive. Fellow musicians stepped up quickly—Shinedown even loaned gear so the band could continue performing.

Just days later, the story took a dramatic turn. On May 1, 2026, Tulsa Police Department officers tracked a suspect vehicle to a residence near 48th Street and South 34th West Avenue. There, 47-year-old Jason Wofford was standing outside—wearing a black “Josey Scott, the Original Voice of Saliva” t-shirt that had been stolen in the heist.

Officers served a search warrant. Inside the home and a shed on the property, they discovered guitars, drums, amplifiers, and boxes of band merchandise. Wofford reportedly admitted to police that he had unloaded the stolen trailer at the house before driving the empty trailer to a rural property in Pawnee County, where it was later recovered. The full trailer and all its contents were returned to Scott intact at the Tulsa Police Department’s Riverside Division.

Wofford was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail on charges of grand larceny after former conviction of a felony (AFCF) and knowingly concealing stolen property AFCF. Authorities emphasized that this is an arrest, not a conviction.

In an official statement, Scott confirmed the positive resolution and expressed deep gratitude to the Tulsa Police Department, especially the detectives involved. “Josey Scott, founding voice of SALIVA, has confirmed that the band’s stolen tour trailer has been successfully recovered, with all equipment returned intact, and a suspect now in custody,” the release read. Scott also announced he was closing the GoFundMe and would be returning all donations.

The swift recovery has been hailed as a rare win for touring musicians, who often face devastating losses from theft with little recourse. For Scott, a veteran of the rock scene whose powerful vocals helped define hits like “Click Click Boom” and “Survival of the Sickest,” the ordeal underscored both the vulnerability of life on the road and the effectiveness of community and law enforcement working together.
